CNE Reveals 2024 Women's Soccer Postseason Awards

BEVERLY, Mass. – After taking the top spot and regular season championship in the Conference of New England, the Hartford Hawks took home three of six major awards as the conference revealed the postseason awards as voted on by the coaches of each program.
 
Offensive Player of the Year: Imani Jenkins, Hartford
Jenkins has played in 16 games for the Hawks eclipsing 1,200 minutes on the field. Jenkins leads the conference in goals scored with 22 in her 16 games to go with six assists for a whopping 50 points. She has also netted a conference leading six game-winners this season. She has also been a multiple time CNE Player of the Week. Jenkins sits among the best in NCAA Division III in scoring, as she currently sits Top 5 in the category in the country. 

Defensive Player of the Year: Lindsey Metcalfe, Hartford
Metcalfe was the top defender for the Hawks in 2024. She has helped the Hawks secure eight shutouts on the year from the center back role, and held opponents to just 11 goals all season long. Metcalfe also added in one goal to her resume.

Goalkeeper of the Year: Molly McLaughlin, WNEU
A two-time Defensive player of the week, McLaughlin leads the league in conference shutouts. She also ranks third in saves, and has played 90 minutes of every conference game this year.
 
Rookie of the Year: Amy Forrest, UNE
Forrest started and played in all 19 games as a rookie, and would play 90 minutes in every game that remained close. She collected two assist on defense - which included helping on the game-winning goal against Wentworth earlier this season. With one CNE Rookie of the Week selection on her resume this season, she helped UNE hold teams to 1.47 goals per game.

Coach of the Year: AJ Stueck, UNE
Stueck led the Nor'easters to 13 total wins on the season (most among CNE teams), with a 6-2-1 overall record in league play to snag the No. 2 overall seed in the upcoming championship. He helped UNE jump another five points from 2023. 
 
Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Christina Stone, Hartford
With a 4.0 GPA and a major in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Stone also got the job done on the field for the Hawks. Stone has played in every game for the Hawks this year logging 1348 minutes (as of 10/27). Stone leads the conference with 17 assists in 16 games to go with seven goals and three game-winners. She was named CNE Player of the Week once so far in 2024.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE OF NEW ENGLAND
Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 20 intercollegiate sports.
