BEVERLY, Mass. – On Tuesday, the Commonwealth Coast Conference announced its Student-Athletes of the Week in baseball, softball and men’s and women’s track and field for April 1-7.
Baseball
Player of the Week: Zach Stephenson, Endicott College | Junior | Mansfield, Mass.
- started all three games in centerfield in Gulls’ 3-0 CCC week; slashed .500 AVG / .538 OBP / .800 SLG and recorded team-high five hits and six RBI
- in 10-3 win at Gordon, went 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk and four RBI
- in doubleheader sweep of Nichols, went 3-for-7 with three runs scored, two RBI and a walk
- cranked his first career home run in game two vs. Bison
Pitcher of the Week: Jordan Gottesman, Endicott College | Senior | Acton, Mass.
- picked up sixth win and CCC victory against Nichols, 6-2, throwing career-high 7.0 innings
- allowed three hits, one earned run, three walks and struck out eight
- pitched an immaculate inning in the fifth (nine pitches, nine strikes, three strikeouts)
Co-Rookie of the Week: Tanner Wall, Western New England University | Freshman | Brookfield, Conn.
- grabbed second win in WNE’s 10-2 decision vs. Hartford
- threw career-high seven innings, giving up six hits and two runs while walking just one and striking out five, also career high
Co-Rookie of the Week: Charlie Hale, Endicott College | Freshman | Brookline, N.H.
- went 1-0 with 0.00 ERA in 10-3 win vs. Gordon
- pitched career-high five innings with no earned runs allowed and struck out three
- limited Fighting Scots to just one hit and two walks in five innings pitched (0.60 WHIP)
Softball
Player of the Week: Jess Rowe, Wentworth Institute of Technology | Junior | Yardley, Pa.
- put together .400 batting average and earned two wins pitching in 3-1 week for Leopards
- totaled team-high six hits, two RBI and two runs scored
- in the circle, went 2-0, with 4.50 ERA, eight strikeouts (four in victory vs. Gulls), allowing 12 hits
- ended week with program’s first-ever win over Endicott (3-2)
Pitcher of the Week: Jaylin Couto, Endicott College | Senior | Taunton, Mass.
- earned extra innings victory in second game vs. Wentworth; Gulls won 4-3 in eight innings
- pitched all eight innings, yielding six hits, three runs, one earned and one walk with eight strikeouts
Rookie of the Week: Brianna Miller, Wentworth Institute of Technology | Freshman | West Haven, Conn.
- hit for .500 BA / 1.000 SLG / .571 OBP in 3-1 week for Leopards
- totaled six hits, three RBI and six runs scored, including a hit and RBI in 3-2 win vs. Endicott
Men’s Track and Field
Track Athlete of the Week: Nathan Tassey, Roger Williams University | Sophomore | Whitman, Mass.
- at U.S. Coast Guard Spring Invitational, won the 1,500 meters (4:03.37) and finished 11th in the 5,000 meters (16:04. 36)
- 49 competitors in 1,500 meters and 32 runners in 5,000 meters
Track Rookie of the Week: Jack Newton, Wentworth Institute of Technology | Freshman | Gloucester, Mass.
- set two program records at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational
- finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.02)
- earned third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:10.09); top rookie finisher
Field Athlete of the Week: Sam Bielawa, Roger Williams University | Junior | Portsmouth, R.I.
- at U.S. Coast Guard Spring Invitational, won the triple jump (43-10.5 / 13.37m, wind aided) and qualified for New England Championships
- finished 19th in the long jump (20-3.75 / 6.19m, wind aided)
Field Rookie of the Week: Evan Huang, Wentworth Institute of Technology | Freshman | Braintree, Mass.
- finished fourth in the long jump (18-8 / 5.73m) at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational
Relay Team of the Week: Nichols 4x400m Relay
- at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational, Domenic Savastano, Gregory Sadlak, Jack Hearn and Patrick Bergin won the 4x400-meter relay (3:38.82)
Women’s Track and Field
Track Athlete of the Week: Hannah Risko, Endicott College | Junior | Guilderland, N.Y.
- at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational, won the 800 meters (2:19.45) and the 1,500 meters (4:51.28)
- in the 800 meters, qualified for New Englands and broke her school record by more than two seconds
Field Athlete of the Week: Tiana Fox, Gordon College | Senior | Antioch, Ill.
- on senior day at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, won the shot put with a throw of 40-6.25 (12.35m)
- mark meets qualification for New England Championships
Track Rookie of the Week: Alexa Suchy, Endicott College | Freshman | Guilford, Conn.
- won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational
- bested the field by more than 20 seconds with a persona-best and New England-qualifying time of 12:11.97
- one of three competitors in the event and one of two freshmen to compete
Field Rookie of the Week: Tati Sicard, Wentworth Institute of Technology | Freshman | Mansfield, Mass.
- at Gordon’s Jonathan Tymann Invitational, set two school records in field events
- earned a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 29-11.25 (9.12m)
- finished 11th in the shot put (30-5 / 9.27m)
Relay Team of the Week: Gordon 4x100m Relay
- at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, Elizabeth Gaskill, Amaris Goodwin, Allison Subat and Emily Bengtson earned a runner-up finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a school-record time of 50.99

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and two associate member institutions throughout the New England region.
