BRISTOL, R.I. – The third-seeded Endicott women's volleyball team defeated second-seeded Roger Williams, 3-1, by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 24-26, and 25-20 in Conference of New England (CNE) semifinal action on Thursday night at the Campus Rec Center Gymnasium.
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) led the way for the Gulls with a match-high 21 kills including the final two to secure a spot in the championship match. The junior also posted 11 digs (13th double-double this season) to go with five assists and a service ace.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) added 16 putaways and 13 digs (10th double-double), while five other Gulls recorded kills highlighted by Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) with seven.
In the middle of the Endicott offense was Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) with 45 assists alongside 16 digs, six kills, and a match-high five service aces.
On the backline, Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) and Reagan Mitchell (Overland Park, Kan.) finished with 19 and 11 digs, respectively.
Tonight's match featured 10 ties (1-1-6-2) and four lead changes (0-0-3-1).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 26-20 all-time against Roger Williams (three straight postseason wins).
