Endicott Women's Tennis Knocks Off No. 1 Colby-Sawyer, 4-1

NEW LONDON, N.H. — The fifth-seeded Endicott women's tennis team took down top-seeded Colby-Sawyer, 4-1, in Saturday evening's Conference of New England (CNE) Semifinal matchup from Kelsey Courts.

The Gulls secured the doubles point after the tandems of Emily Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) / Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) took No. 1 (6-4), and Abbey Fleming (Wolfeboro, N.H.) / Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) claimed No. 3 (6-2).

In singles, Woods dominated No. 6 (6-2, 6-0) while Nadia Uzelac (Waltham, Mass.) took No. 4 convincingly as well (6-1, 6-0). Jillian Friedman (Austin, Texas) won her No. 2 singles match (6-4, 6-4) to close out the semifinal win for the Gulls.

Following the match win, head coach Dejan Stankovic said, "We played really well today. Fought hard and had lots of energy. We stayed the course of what we have been working on the whole year— it's coming together in front of our eyes now."
