BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's ice hockey graduate student Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) has signed an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) with the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
Kurapov is the 13th student-athlete in program history to sign a professional contract, and the fifth to do so with an ECHL team. Reading is affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The 5-10, 170-pound center compiled 28 points (14g-14a) in 28 games played this season for the Gulls (+16, 4 PPG, 3 GWG). He ranked tied for second on the team in goals and points, with both figures positioned fourth and fifth among his Conference of New England (CNE) peers, respectively.
Kurapov finished his five-year standout career at Endicott ranked first all-time in games played (113) and game-winners (14), second in scoring (51g-67a–118p), third in goals (51), fifth in assists (67) and plus-minus (+64), and sixth in power play tallies (12).
His other career achievements include two conference Player of the Year awards, a pair of All-America and All-Region honors, four All-Conference selections (three first team), and league Rookie of the Year accolades in 2021-22.
Kurapov was also named a Sid Watson Award finalist in 2022-23, a Joe Concannon Award finalist once (three semis selections), the Endicott College Co-Male Athlete of the Year in 2023-24, and a three-time Academic All-Conference selection.
During his five-year career, the Gulls posted an 82-24-9 overall record (.752) and a 59-12-7 mark in league play (.801).
Endicott captured back-to-back conference championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and appeared in the league championship game in all four eligible years during Kurapov's career (2020-21 COVID season).
The 2022-23 season highlighted Kurapov's playing days in a Gulls' sweater, as Endicott advanced to the NCAA National Semifinals – the same year the forward was named a Player of the Year finalist.
The program also hosted the NCAA National Semifinals and NCAA National Championship at Raymond J. Bourque Arena that season.
