POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE
EASTLAKE, Ohio — The No. 3/4 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team saw its 2025 College World Series (CWS) run come to an end on Monday morning, as it suffered an 8-2 loss to eighth-seeded Messiah at Classic Park.
WP (6-2): Jason Long (Lancaster, Pa.) — 9 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
LP (13-2): Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) — 2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
The Gulls allowed two early runs to the Falcons, and were ultimately never able to catch them in the 8-2 loss.
After the Falcons scratched two across in the bottom of the second, the Blue and Green got one back, as Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) worked a hard-earned sac fly to center field, scoring TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) from third after his leadoff double.
In the now 2-1 contest, the Falcons padded their lead with a four spot in the bottom of the third.
Some solid relief from freshman right-hander Max Jarvie (Wilton, Conn.) kept the Gulls within striking distance, and in the top of the fifth, Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) hit his second homer in as many days to inch the Gulls a bit closer at 6-2.
Unfortunately, that was all the scoring on the day for the Blue and Green.
The Falcons tacked on two more in the seventh and eighth to seal their national semifinal victory at 8-2.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls reached the national semifinals for the first time in program history.
- Endicott is the only program to reach the College World Series in each of the last three seasons.
- Wladkowski's homer was the 29th of his career, the most of any student-athlete in program history.
- Senior right-handed pitcher Pat Hart (Norfolk, Mass.) entered in the bottom of the eighth for the eighth appearance of his career.
- Two runs ties a season-low for the Gulls offense.
