BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Roger Williams University Men's Tennis team saw their season come to a close on Saturday morning, falling to the Polar Bears of #7 Bowdoin, 4-0 on the Pickard Tennis Courts in the NCAA Tournament Second Round.
 
The Hawks dropped the doubles point to the Polar Bears, as Bowdoin's Mark Kneiss and Jackson Codd, who were alternates for the NCAA Division III Doubles Tournament, earned a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles over Roger Williams' Bronson DeSisto (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Ryan Carroll (Holden, Mass.). Will Hurlbut (Marion, Mass.) and Camden Poitras (Londonderry, N.H.) competed at the No. 2 doubles spot, but were unable to overcome the Polar Bear duo of Kiran Garapati and Simon Catanzaro, falling 6-3.
 
In single action, Bowdoin continued to make headway, with Hurlbut dropping his No. 6 singles match, 6-0, 6-1 to Andrew Mendelson, giving Bowdoin a 2-0 lead, before Codd defeated Iker Rodriguez Alcocer (Nuacalpan de Juarez, Mexico), 6-2, 6-0, and Cameron Zia sealed the match at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Poitras.
 
Roger Williams (19-6, 10-1 CNE) picked up their first CNE title since the 2021 season, while earning the most victories in a season in program history. The NCAA Tournament win in the first round marked the first of Head Coach Barry Gorman's career, and was the first since the 2010-11 campaign.
