BEVERLY, MA – The Conference of New England (CNE) has unveiled its 2024 Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll, with Western New England University claiming the No. 1 spot. Garnering 95 points and six first-place votes, the Golden Bears are the preseason favorites to capture the conference crown.
Nichols College is ranked second with 83 points and three first-place votes. Following closely, Endicott College ranks third with 82 points, while Roger Williams University, which received 71 points and one first-place vote, is positioned fourth. Suffolk University rounds out the top five with 61 points.
Wentworth Institute of Technology holds the sixth spot with 52 points, while Hartford, Gordon, Curry, and the University of New England (UNE) fill out the remaining rankings.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE OF NEW ENGLAND
Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition and a meaningful student life.
