BEVERLY, Mass. — A run from the Suffolk Rams en route to a conference championship one year ago headlines the storylines for the upcoming 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) men’s soccer season. Let’s take a look as we preview each squad for the upcoming 2025 season.
Curry College
Curry is once again led by head coach, Dr. Pete Mendel, who enters his 19th season at the helm of the Colonels. He will look to bring the Colonels back to the playoffs, after a 6-10-4 record last year. With only two players graduating from last year’s team, the Colonels will look to rely on their experience this season. After sitting out almost all of last season due to injury, the Colonels will get graduate student Lucas Drons back on the field. With 33 career goals, he sits third in program history, just five behind the all time leading goal scorer Drew Lalor ‘97. Drons has scored 14 and 13 goals in his last two healthy seasons, being named to the conference’s 2nd and 1st team in those two seasons. He won’t be alone in scoring this year, as he will have a running mate in sophomore Aiden Watts, a CNE first team selection last year as a freshman. He tallied 11 goals last year, and should form a strong pair with Drons. In net the Colonels return senior Brendan Cunningham, who ranks in the top five in program history in career GAA (1.66) and save percentage (.788). His save percentage last season of 0.861 was the second highest in Curry history. Curry begins their season at UMass Dartmouth on Friday, before hosting their home opener against Lesley on Sunday at 11am.

Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland),
Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.), and
Tim Lynch (Groton, Conn.). The Gulls return six All-Conference of New England (CNE) honorees to this year's squad, highlighted by reigning CNE Goalkeeper of the Year
Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) and reigning Defensive Player of the Year
Tim Lynch (Groton, Conn.). Endicott posted a perfect in-conference record last season. This season's CNE play begins on Friday, September 5 at 4 PM in a home match against Roger Williams, who defeated the Gulls in an overtime CNE semifinal match at Hempstead Stadium last season. Senior forward
Matt Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) returns from injury to bolster
Coach Calabrese's offense in 2025. The senior made the transition from back to forward last season, and in his one game played prior to injury, he netted a goal up top for the Gulls. The Blue and Green have captured the CNE Regular Season title in three of the last four seasons. They set out to win their first Conference Championship since 2017 this season.

Gordon fell to No. 3 seed Western New England in penalty kicks in the first round of the CNE Tournament.
Benny Simpson earned All-CNE third team honors after ranking second on the team with 11 points last season, scoring three goals and dishing out five assists. Luke Lindas also collected All-CNE third team accolades last fall as he added three goals and one assist. Max Cardone tallied for goals last season while Cortez Cardone chipped in with two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Isaiah Diaz posted a 4-1-2 record a year ago in seven starts.

Johnson & Wales University
The Wildcats carry a rich winning tradition into the Conference of New England, having won 10 GNAC Championships, the most recent coming in 2023. JWU advanced to the conference championship match last season and graduated a lot of firepower, including 2024 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year Aidan Bagley, as well as Conner Elliott, midfielder Brian Miller, back Nolan Sooy, and goalkeeper Decan Caster. Senior Caros Andrade (17 points) and junior Christopher Vargas (13 points) are the top returning scorers for a group which saw 13 different student-athletes find the back of the net in 2024. Head coach David Kulik’s teams are perennially one of the stingiest defensive units in the region and this year should be no different with 11 newcomers in the mix to fill some of the voids left by a graduating class which appeared in three conference championship matches during their time at JWU.
Additions: Ryan Othman, Christopher Wilkins, Kaihler Galvin, Julian Podstupka, Jayden Suriel, Strom de Jong, Miguel Mata, Ethan L’Italien, Carson Merluzzo, Adrian Hernandez, Gabriel Soares

Nichols College
The Nichols Men’s Soccer program has a new look heading into the 2025 season, with Marco DeVito stepping in as the new Head Coach. A wave of fresh talent on the pitch signals an exciting new era for Bison soccer as they gear up for a demanding non-conference schedule and Conference of New England (CNE) play.
On the pitch, the new-look Bison will see the return of captain William Pugliese-Savage, who in 2023 earned All-CCC Second Team honors, and All-CNE Third Team honors in 2024. The Bison will also introduce three new captains to the program: Mick Tarozzi, Carl Headges-Small, and Ryan Bray. The Bison will open up the season at home on Friday, August 29th against Anna Maria College.

Roger Williams University
Roger Williams comes off their third-straight conference championship match appearance after posting an 11-7-4, 4-3-2 CNE record, upsetting the top seed in last season's tournament on the road in the CNE Semifinals, before ultimately falling in the Championship match in PKs.
The Hawks return 2024 CNE Rookie of the Year Tyler Jastrab (Townsend, Mass.), who was responsible for 21 points, while Senior Liam Blaisdell (Plymouth, Mass.), who tallied 17 points in the 2024 campaign, will look to lead the offense. On the defensive end RWU will look to Brandon Rodriguez (Norwalk, Conn.) and Noah Massotti (Douglas, Mass.) as they stabilized the back end of the Hawks formation. RWU sees Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) return after earning Second Team All-Conference honors beside Jastrab in 2024, while Rodriguez was named to the Third Team.
Head Coach James Greenslit enters his 11
th season, posting a career record of 91-61-33 (.581), looking for his second conference title during his tenure with the Hawks.
