Women’s Soccer Awards, All-Conference Teams Announced

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced the 2023 women’s soccer award winners and All-Conference Teams on Tuesday.

University of New England junior Tori Keyes is the Offensive Player of the Year. She totaled eight goals and three assists while leading the league in shots (73) and shots on goal (39). Keyes had a goal or an assist in five of eight Conference games. She paced the squad to its first-ever top-25 national ranking (week of Sept. 26).

Western New England senior captain Malina LaCapra is the the Defensive Player of the Year. She anchored the defensive line that allowed the second fewest goals in the Conference. Also from WNE, Kristin Hensinger is the Coach of the Year. The Golden Bears earned the regular-season title, the No. 1 seed in the Tournament and advanced to the Championship game.

Gordon’s Eowyn Lapp is the Rookie of the Year. Her 11 goals (four game winners), eight assists and 30 points led the league. In six of eight league games played (missing two to injury), she posted five goals, three assists, two game winners and 13 points, leading the CCC in those categories. Lapp scored in four of the six Conference games she played and assisted in a fifth.

University of New England’s Emily Martin is the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She’ll graduate this spring with a degree in nursing. She is a Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society inductee and a CCC Academic All-Conference Team honoree. She has worked as a nurse extern and patient care tech. In 2023, she totaled seven goals (including two game winners), five assists and 19 total points.
