BEVERLY, Mass. - The stage is set for a new season on the track, as the Conference of New England’s men’s and women’s programs gear up for competition, teams across the league bring a blend of returning standouts, emerging talent, and championship aspirations into the year. From the sprints to the distance events and the field, every point will matter as programs look to make their mark and chase a conference title.

The Curry Track and Field team will compete in their inaugural season this spring, as coach Sarah Gallo will lead them. Gallo, has recruited a team of nearly 50 athletes to take part in the season, and she will rely heavily on the experienced distance runners from the cross country team. Both the men’s and women’s cross country program record holders join the team in Blaise Denson and Mackenzie Husson.

Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.), as well as reigning Field Rookie of the Year and Track Rookie of the Year award winners
Abby Griffith (Franklin, Mass.) and
Meagan McAndrews (Amesbury, Mass.).
Along with Suchy, captains
Logan Baxter (Coventry, R.I.) and
Teagan Shaughnessy (Watertown, Mass.) will look to guide the team throughout the season.
Endicott’s 2026 campaign is already underway, as the Gulls recently posted 14 PRs, six top-5 finishes, and five D3 New England provisional qualifying times/marks at the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic last Saturday evening, hosted by Wesleyan University at The Andersen Track.

Mickey Miela is in his fourth season at the helm of the Gordon College Track & Field programs. At last year’s Conference of New England Championships, Rolen Sanderson captured first place in the 400 meters while William Hughes was named Most Outstanding Field Performer with medals in the long jump, and triple jump.

Last season, Gordon captured the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field title. Elizabeth Gaskill claimed first in the long jump and 100 meters. Alivia Geraghty posted a victory in the hammer throw. In total, the Fighting Scots took home 17 medals at last year’s championship meet.
The outdoor season begins March 28 at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
Johnson & Wales University
The Wildcats captured the GNAC Championship last spring behind a balanced attack in sprints and throws. Lulani Haslinger was named GNAC Athlete of the Year as she specialized in the 800m, one mile run, and 3000m run. Ayevah Marinez leads a talented group of sprinters, along with newcomers Aliyah Wilson and Alison Quiambao. Lena Nicholson, Lauren Stanger, Kaitlyn O’Brien and Rhiana Thomas lead a deep group of throwers. Others expected to contribute include Josie Spaulding, Avery Goshert, Fallon Preble, Corinne Breyault, Chidera Obike, and Abby Rendock.

The Nichols College men’s track & field program now competes for results under new guidance from 1st-Year Head Coach Luke Elson. Elson makes his way to The Hill bringing experience from his time at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He is assisted by Austin Paul, Lucas Couture, and Len Harmon.
The Bison return a core of experienced competitors for the 2026 outdoor track & field season, led by senior multi-event standout Colby Ambroziak and versatile senior Gino Di Vito, both of whom provide leadership across sprints and distance events. Key upperclassmen including juniors Patrick Bergin, Sean Bowen, Jack Crowley, Liam Wilcox, and Jackson Shea bring strength in mid-distance, hurdles, jumps, and multi events, anchoring Nichols’ depth. Returners like Eric Manilut, Avery Mitchem, Isaiah Rosas, Michael Carbone, and Cayden Trementozzi also look to build on solid contributions from last season.
Nichols shows promise in their new entries as well, with freshman Braxton Rocha and sophomore Blake Pattison already combining for multiple record breaks in their indoor competition.
The outdoor season will begin for both men’s and women’s track & field at the Tymann Invitational, hosted by Gordon College on Friday, March 27th.

The Nichols College women’s track & field team is now competing under the direction of first-year head coach Luke Elson. Elson joins The Hill with experience from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is supported by assistant coaches Austin Paul, Lucas Couture, and Len Harmon.
The Nichols women’s track & field team brings back a strong group of returners for the outdoor season, backed by experienced seniors Emma Cheffer, Julia Fearing, and Catherine Pollock. Erin Mahoney, Haley Bethin, Adison Dawe, Destiny Gardner, and Erin Wyndham, continued to develop in the throws events to start their season, with Dawe already setting and breaking numerous program records.
Gabrielle McKayle, Asya Osei-Opoku, and Lixion Koulmbai are key returners for the sprints and jump events, McKayle already notching multiple record times for sprints and jumps.
Nichols’ new group adds depth, with freshmen like Caminea Layman already becoming a near weekly regular for program times and distances.
The outdoor season will begin for both men’s and women’s track & field at the Tymann Invitational, hosted by Gordon College on Friday, March 27th.

Nathan Tassey who has made two appearances at the NCAA Division III National Championships and currently holds the school 10k record. Also returning for the men,
Justin Dickson set a program best in the decathlon, while also seeing personal best marks in the 100, long jump, high jump, 110 hurdles, and discus. In field events,
Napoleon Suderman and
Enrique Maldonado return in the hammer and discus. Maldonado set a personal best in the hammer throw at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship last season, throwing a 46.73m. Suderman also posted personal bests of 47.70m and 48.27m, respectively, in the discus and hammer.

Karsyn Medeiros who ran a 28.50 in the 200 at the Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship last season, while contributing to a season-best 4x100 relay of 52.15 for 23rd at the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Coming off a third-place finish at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championships, Suffolk women’s outdoor track & field returns a large core of 27 student-athletes and welcomes 17 newcomers for the 2026 season.
The Rams return multiple All-Conference performers, led by
Devyn Battistoni, a First Team All-CNE selection in the pole vault.
Kaylie Groom and
Amy Pattelena also return after helping the 4x400 relay earn First Team All-CNE honors.
Sasha Helfgott-Waters adds experience in the jumps after earning Third Team All-CNE recognition in the pole vault.
JJ Conteh and
Hilma Ortega, both Third Team All-CNE selections as part of the 4x100 relay, headline the sprint group

Connor Green enters another season leading the Hawks to a historic Conference of New England Championship in 2025. Hartford totaled 167 points and won the meet by a 14-point margin behind a balanced effort across track and field events. Key returners include junior William Pavlinsky (New Milford, Conn.) who earned first place in the shot put tossing a distance of 14.01 meters, and sophomore Aidan Lybarger (Burlington, Vt.) who captured first in the discus with 50.29 meters covered.

Hartford turned in a strong performance at the 2025 Conference of New England Championships, placing second overall with 153 points. The Hawks were highlighted by 13 top-three finishes, they showcased their strength on the track with a sweep of the 100 meter hurdles taking first, second, and third, freshman Tamara Greene (Hartford, Conn.) returns as she crossed the finish line at 15.49 seconds to give her the second place medal. Senior Madison DiPasquale (Wallingford, Conn.) returns as reigning discus champion as she cleared a distance of 39.10 meters in 2025, along with second place in both the shot put and hammer throw.

The University of New England and 6th-year head coach Kourtney Bonsey return three all-conference performances from 2025. Five individuals, in all, have previously made it onto the podium in their careers, led by senior thrower Sarah LaVita, who topped the charts in the javelin in 2024 and has three second-place finishes from other seasons. Senior thrower Olivia Chase has UNE's only two all-time medals (second place) in the hammer, while sophomore jumper Julia Chase is fresh off a third-place showing in last year's high jump. Senior sprinter Emily Buchter and senior thrower Emma Mini have also claimed all-league status in the past.
Wentworth Institute of Technology

Emily Gustavsson enters her fourth season as the head coach of the Wentworth Men’s and Women’s Track & Field coach. Fresh off a strong fall cross country campaign, the track & field squad is looking to carry that success outdoors. The men’s team sees the return of four key figures across several events. Last season’s Conference of New England champion in the 800mand steeplechase Ryan Ballard returns to the team as well as Olivier Bishop, who was All-New England in the decathlon last year. The men’s team will also have Owen Moriarty, an All-Conference pole vaulter last year, and Julian Sacca, who earned All-Conference in shot put last season, returning for the 2026 outdoor season.
The outdoor season kicks off March 28 at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational hosted by Gordon College.

The women’s team will see the return of Laci Santos, who was All-New England in the heptathlon, and Emma Schaumloffel, who was the first NEICAAA 10k qualifier in program history. Wentworth also welcomes four newcomers, including Alexis Heretakis and Princess Nimely, who have had standout indoor seasons. Heretakis set the indoor program record in the long jump in January at Springfield with a jump of 5.01m. Nimley has impressed in her first year, setting the indoor program record in the 200m with a time of 28.05, set at Boston University in January.
The Leopards open the outdoor season on March 28 at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
Western New England

Head coach Jon Harris leads the men’s program into their second season of existence. The team saw success in year one and looks to expand on that early success in year two. Leading the squad this year in their return are sophomores Alex Maurer, Nolan Palmer, and Nicholas Smith. Maurer did not see the track much last season but has already had success in the Men’s 100m and 200m events in the team’s first three meets of the season. 2025 New England Division III Championships qualifier Nolan Palmer rejoins the program for his second season after going to championships in the Men’s 400m Hurdles, hoping to continue to excel in that event and more. Smith will hold down the distance group after a very successful cross country season for the sophomore. Smith will not just be leading the distance squad, but also the mid-distance group. He has already seen action in the men’s 800m event and been on a 4x400 relay team.

The women’s team will be led into this season by 2025 New England Division III Championships qualifier Kayla Kyles (sophomore) and two other members of the 4x100m Relay team that made it to the Championships as well, Imani Brown-Taylor (sophomore) and Fallon Lynch (sophomore). Kyles is a versatile athlete for Harris’ women’s team, being able to run the sprint and relay events, and jump in the Women’s Long Jump, as she did at the New England Championships. Fellow qualifier Imani Brown-Taylor will join Kyles in the sprint events and field events like the Long and Triple Jump. Brown-Taylor has already impacted the team during her sophomore season through the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, helping the team grab second and first, respectively, in their second meet of the season. Fallon Lynch was another member of the women’s 4x400m team that went to the New England Championship meet. Lynch returns after joining the cross country team and excelling in the fall. Lynch will anchor a strong mid-distance group for WNE and continue to help the 4x400m team find success.

Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 11 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 21 intercollegiate sports.
