Endicott Women’s Lacrosse Upends Hartford, 22-8

BEVERLY, Mass. — The first-seeded Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated fourth-seeded Hartford, 22-8, in the Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament semifinal round on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium.

Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) powered the offense with a game-high-tying six points (4g, 2a) and a team-high five draw controls.

Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) notched five goals (tied game-high), while Mia Samarjian (Stow, Mass.) and Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.) both registered hat tricks in the victory.

Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) and Kenzie Velsmid (Hopewell Junction, Vt.) also contributed multi-goal games alongside solo tallies from Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.)Sophia Notine (Kennebunk, Maine), and Mia Kaczmarek (South Burlington, Vt.)

In goal, Severine Michel (Seekonk, Mass.) made four saves in 45 minutes of action to improve to 12-3 overall on the season. 

Emma Budke (Rye, N.Y.) blanked the Hawks in the final 15 minutes, stopping four quality scoring chances along the way.

  • With today's win, the Gulls earned their 10th straight trip to the CNE Championship.

First-seeded Endicott (14-4) hosts second-seeded Roger Williams in the CNE Championship on Saturday at 3 PM. Hartford's season comes to a close at 11-7 overall.
