MEDFORD, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to No. 23 Haverford, 19-9, in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Bello Field.
Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the way with a hat-trick and two assists for five points.
Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.) scored twice, while Ava Amara (Southbury, Conn.), Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.), Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.), and Kenzie Velsmid (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) all found the back of the net once. Black added two assists in the setback along with Mia Samarjian (Stow, Mass.) finishing with an assist.
In goal, Severine Michel (Seekonk, Mass.) made five saves in over 47 minutes of action. Emma Budke (Rye, N.Y.) made one save over the final. In total the Gulls caused seven turnovers with Caroline Rocco (North Grafton, Mass.) forcing a team-high two.
After Haverford got on the board first, the Gulls responded with tallies from Smith and Black to take a 2-1 lead. A two goal run by the Fords was answered with an Amara strike for another tie at three apiece.
The Fords regained their advantage just 35 seconds after, but Bellevile scored a free-position goal for the game's fourth tie at 4-4.
The game continued going back-and-forth to start the second quarter as two goals from Smith pushed the Endicott lead to 6-5. Haverford would then respond with three unanswered goals to push them infront 8-6. The Gulls would cut the lead to one before another Ford tally just 1:09 before halftime gave them a 9-7 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Fords took control of the contest as they outscored the Gulls 10-2 to secure the 19-9 victory.

- First-ever meeting between Endicott and Haverford.
